The Lioness Collins bottled cocktail. A limited edition serve in collaboration with our friends at SoccerBible to celebrate the Lionesses. The England squad to finally bring football home. All £1750.58 made going to UK charity Football Beyond Borders.
This summer has seen the nation uniting behind the Lionesses and their extraordinary efforts throughout the Euros. An 8-nil victory against Norway in the group stages. ‘That’ back heel goal from Russo in the semis. Phenomenal performances eliciting record-breaking viewings for women’s football, culminating in a nail-biting final against Germany.
The England squad to finally bring football home.
On Sunday the 30th of July, history was made at Wembley stadium. England became European champions for the very first time. But the Lionesses have done so much more than bring the trophy home. They have altered the path for millions of future footballers, inspiring the next generation, breaking conventions to challenge the long established manuscript of football.
We cheered them on, game after game, as they conquered all those before them. But we wanted to do something to commemorate their achievements. Something to remember the team, their legacy, and something to help enact change for young aspiring footballers.
In partnership with SoccerBible we created the Lioness Collins. A serve made with East London Gin, classic British Elderflower, Lemon and Soda. A limited edition run of 100 bottles, with every penny going directly to Football Beyond Borders, a UK charity using the power of football to change the lives of young people.
As this campaign comes to an end, we’ll be donating £1750.58. A contribution that will go towards the Girls Programme, which helps girls all over the UK to improve their social and emotional skills, mental wellbeing, confidence and academic success. The ultimate goal is to inspire the next generation to participate in the game, regardless of their background. In doing this, also helping strive for a national team that will be as diverse as our society in the future
Cocktails shouldn't be defined by gender. Neither should football.
Since EURO 2020, we have aligned ourselves with the art and culture of football. Our cocktails break down any element of exclusivity and prejudice and are to be enjoyed by everyone. Football is a vehicle to bring people from all walks of life together, it’s a time for celebration, release, elation and most importantly, expression. This tournament has opened our eyes to this even more. Cocktails shouldn’t be defined by gender. Neither should football.
It is clear football’s power extends well beyond the pitch. As the Lionesses’ themselves put it: We see this only as the beginning. We can’t wait to see what’s in store.
